David Shreiner

David Shreiner (September 8, 1958 – Oct 21, 2018)

Along with his two siblings David Shreiner grew up in Oberlin, OH in a family of modest means where David learned early the value of hard work and determination. David graduated from Miami University of Ohio where he majored in business marketing and economics. David’s love of people, music and cars started early in his life and his wonderful sense of humor was enjoyed by all.

David was an extrovert and a people person and used his interpersonal skills in his professional life to lead and build strong sales teams in the area of medical technology. He worked for Pyxis (later named Cardinal Health and Care Fusion), Imprivata, and most recently Apervita as a Senior Vice President of Sales.

While David was extremely dedicated to his work, he also played hard. He regularly competed in the Minnesota Ice Pond Hockey championships, was an avid golfer, tennis player, squash player and other sports as well. And he was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan.

David brought the same passion he brought to work and play to his family and personal life as well. He loved spending time with his son Drew (which included hockey and golf outings over the years), with his daughter Ella supporting her music and theatrical performances, with his wife Aleza and with friends and family.

Dave and his family always spent time during the summers at the Congregational Summer Assembly community in Frankfort, MI, a connection that started with David’s grandparents purchasing a cabin in the 1920s and continues to this day. The “Lake” is a special place for the family, extended family and the many friends David invited up over the years. He loved making each day a memory with time on the boats, sporting activities and nightly campfires with s’mores.

David is survived by his wife Aleza Martin, his son Drew (Brittany), daughter Ella, his sister Mary Veta and her son David Alexander (Lauren), his brother Steve (Wanda) and their children Brent (Erin), Tami Kockaya (Ali), nieces and nephews.

Donations in David’s memory can be made to a GoFundMe campaign David’s family set up to support the Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre in Frankfort, MI.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Service details will be posted as soon as they become available.
