Shirley Gray was a devoted God fearing woman as a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church until her health started to decline and she was not able to continue attending church regularly. She worked and retired from Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA after 21 years of service as a Supply Technician.
She truly loved her family and would do anything for them. Family activities included trips to Los Angeles to visit her sister Martha, fishing, roller derby, amusement parks, beaches, dominoes, and play cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was well known for her southern hospitality and cooking. She would welcome you into her home and serve you some of her southern fried chicken, collard greens, corn bread and homemade dressing. Her banana pudding, tea cakes, sweet potato pie, and lemon meringue pie were a few of her specialties. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, mother, grandmother, a great friend and mother-in-law.
On Saturday July 9, 2016, Shirley Ann Gray received her wings and transitioned home to live with our Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her mother Melissa Hunter, her husband Lonnie T Gray, her son Eldon Gray, three sisters, two brothers, and five grandchildren.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
