Paulina Adap Fernandez Ordonio
July 8, 1936 - March 20, 2022
On March 20, 2022, our Beloved Paulina Adap Fernandez Ordonio peacefully passed away from her battle with Dementia, surrounded by her family at the age of 85 years old at her home in San Diego, CA. She is survived by her husband, Alfredo Ordonio after 65 years of marriage, along with 3 daughters - Glenda Phife, Teresa Ordonio-Valero and Edita King. Her legacy lives on through her entire family: Alfredo, Glenda & Terry, Tres & Beb, Edita, Brandon, Melanie, Michelle & Manny, Jordan, Jaylon, Laura, Twins Jameson & Roman and Twins Milo and Mason. Her family believes that when she transitioned, she was greeted by her son in-law, the late Justin King, along with many more of her loved ones who have already passed on. Paulina was a very loved wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, auntie, sister, friend, neighbor and devoted woman of God. Paulina was born in San Juan, San Manuel Pangasinan, Philippines on July 8, 1936 to Juan & Fortunata. She was the 8th born out of 10 children with 2 brothers and 7 sisters. In 1958, Paulina arrived in Hawaii to join her husband Alfredo as a Navy wife. A few years later the Navy transferred them to San Diego, CA where they raised their 3 daughters and made it their hometown. Linda Vista is where "Belen" formed and solidified a deep "family bond" with a majority of her Comadres and Compadres and became a "Ninang" to many. She also worked at Wavetek for 21 years where she met and developed a lifetime of friendships. Paulina encouraged Alfredo to move forward with his real estate goals and helped him petition to bring family members to the United States. Paulina stayed in constant contact with her Sisters and Comadres/Compadres through endless letters, cards, and gifts sent. She was viewed as the Light of her Family - a woman of deep faith. With her strong yet nurturing presence, her memory will be carried on as a woman who exemplified unconditional love, a generous heart with exceptional "Mama Chef" skills and a smile with dimples that would light up any room she entered. She is remembered fondly as a woman who would dance, sing, be the first one to celebrate your birthdays and victories and be a consistent source of kindness and resilience.
