Alice Mae Schillinger's Obituary
Alice Mae (Pershing) Schillinger was born in the Village of Dorothy, PA on August 16, 1924 to Robert A. Pershing and AnnaMae A. Pershing. She was the second of 8 brothers and sisters. She married Paul J. Schillinger Sr. and together they raised their 2 sons, Paul Jr. and Robert Sr. Paul and Alice owned and ran a dairy farm. The family moved to San Diego in 1950, originally heading to Alaska, but decided to make San Diego home. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and dedicated many hours to volunteering in church and convalescent homes. A wise businesswoman, she bought and sold properties, doing most of the upkeep herself. Family was the most important thing to her. She cherished going back to PA and spending time with her brothers and sisters at The Pershing Family Reunion and hosting all, including her nieces and nephews, at Alice's Palace.
Alice was predeceased by her husbands Paul Schillinger Sr. and Thomas Roach, Siblings Ralph, Bill, Robert, Betty, Roy, and David, her children Robert Sr. and Paul Jr.
Alice is survived by her sister Velma, Grandchildren Sandra (child Alieha), Susan (children Jeffrey and Kari), Paul III (wife Tonia and children Kimberlee and Paula), Robert Jr. (wife Mitzi and children Emily and Haley), and 6 great great grandchildren Dylan, Carson, Kaelyn, Gavin, Jordyn and Evelynn.
Alice was the matriarch of the family and will be remembered with love and admiration.
Alice is entombed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
