Angelica Guarderas Carroll's Obituary
Angelica Carroll, aged 98, residing in San Diego passed away on the 24th of October 2022 in the company of her loving children. Angelica was born in Loja, Ecuador and raised in Lima, Peru. She first came to the United States to study English at Old Miss, in 1950. She decided that she wanted to be a part of the American dream. She met the future father of her children John L. Carroll Sr, in Los Angeles 1955 and married him. It was love at first sight. They had 3 beautiful children and lived in Los Angeles and Catalina Island in the 1960s. They came back to the mainland in the 1970’s and Angelica worked for LAC-USC medical center as a patient financial services worker. In the 1980’s Angelica’s children went off to college, the military and government service. She cared for her own mother until her mother’s death and then moved to San Diego for a new start. She was a devoted parishioner at Saint Mary Magdalene’s for many years. She will be missed by her children Mary, John and Charles as well as her grandson Anthony and immediate family members. She will be remembered by many for her outgoing personality, her devotion to her church and her giving nature. A viewing, along with a Rosary will be held from 5:00-9:00 on Thursday 3 November at Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Mt Abernathy Ave, San Diego, 92117. The funeral mass will be held on Friday 4 November at Saint Mary Magdalene Church 11:00, 1945 Illion St, San Diego, 92117. Burial services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, 92117 1:15 following the mass.
The Carroll Family appreciates flowers, however, in lieu of flowers, Angelica would have appreciated donations and requests for a Mass to be said in her name (and or the family) to either of the following:
