Anne Colman Frey Bradley – Obituary
By Patricia L. Frey Blasko
April 24, 2019
Our beloved Anne Colman (Frey) Bradley, age 75, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 22, 2019, from her home in San Diego, CA.
Born on January 11, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a child of Delbert E. and Mary Madeline (Kittell) Frey. Her sisters included Mary Madeline, Patricia Louise, and Mary D. Upon the death of their father, the family moved to the Allegheny mountain home of their Kittell grandparents in Loretto, PA.
Anne graduated from Cresson Joint High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation, Anne moved to San Diego, married William (Bill) Bradley and raised three beloved daughters. She distinguished herself by making Nationals on her Professional Nursing Boards and attaining an RN designation. She was an RN at the former El Cajon Valley Hospital in the pediatric department. She later worked at Grossmont Union High School District for many years, where she eventually retired.
She is survived by her former husband Bill, daughters Sonya Casalnuovo, Anita (Eric) Sprague, Diana (Declan) Stapleton, grandchildren Sean and Alanna Stapleton, her three sisters, many cousins and friends…and her little gray cat, Gracie.
Anne will be remembered as a beautiful person inside and out who loved to dance. A breast cancer survivor, Anne participated in many cancer charity events and volunteered at the Kaiser Oncology Center. She also volunteered at the local elementary school and supported the pro-life movement. She could also be found walking, hiking, challenging all takers to a game of Scrabble, or finding swap meet treasures. Above all, Anne loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, sisters, cousins, and friends. Her compassionate heart and non-judgmental ear were always available. As a lifelong devotee of her Catholic faith, Anne will be celebrated in a Memorial mass:
Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11am
Ascension Catholic Church
11292 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92124
A funeral mass will be held subsequently at The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Loretto, PA where she will be interred with her dear parents.
When we look up to the starry skies we will forever see her sparkle……
