Betty Feerick's Obituary
Betty Feerick, 81, a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother died peacefully with family by her side on Holy Thursday, April 14, 2022, in San Diego, California. She was born on July 5, 1940 in Deming, New Mexico, to parents Howard Birchfield and Dena Baumann Birchfield. She was raised in Wickenburg, Arizona, and attended Scottsdale High School. After graduating high school, Betty worked for the State of Arizona in the Workers Compensation Department as a secretary in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met the love of her life Eugene Feerick. They married in August 1961, and later moved to Barstow, California where they raised their five children. Betty dedicated her life to her family as a full time homemaker. After her husband retired, they moved to San Diego where they enjoyed golf, the beach, local casinos and traveling. Betty had an electrifying spirit and loved spending time with family in California, Kentucky, Virginia, New York, Arizona, and Ireland. She leaves behind wonderful memories. Even as her health declined, Betty could be heard saying, “It’s all good”. Betty is survived by her four children, Eugene Feerick Jr. Thomas Feerick, Coreen Hooper and Maureen St. Pierre, and twelve grandchildren, Jeffery Ribera, Thomas Feerick Jr, Shannon Ribera, Matthew St. Pierre, Emily Feerick, Patrick St. Pierre, Corwin Feerick, Catherine Hooper, Jack St. Pierre, John Hooper, Clare Hooper, and Kaitlin St. Pierre and two great grandchildren, Kailin and Eoin Bidenbach and sister, Florence and brother Howard Birchfield Jr., and many loved nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Eugene Feerick and daughter Theresa Ribera. On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, her nephew Father Francis Shannon performed a Catholic funeral mass at St Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. She was buried next to her husband and daughter at Holy Cross Cemetery. May perpetual light shine upon Betty Feerick and may the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace.
