Carlos Lopez Jr.'s Obituary
Carlos “Los” Lopez, Jr., 62, of San Diego, CA., passed away at his home on April 10, 2023.
Visitation will be held on April 26, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Clairemont Mortuary. Mass will be held on April 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Burial will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Carlos was born in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico, on November 6, 1960. He graduated from James Madison High School and continued to receive a degree in Management from Mesa College.
Carlos was married to Maria Lopez on November 6, 1999, at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Carlos started his career in the restaurant industry working at Alfonso’s of La Jolla. He then moved on to work as a Restaurant Manager at his parent’s restaurant Carmen’s Mexican Food. He retired from Carmen’s in 2022 after working for over 35 years.
Carlos loved sports and was a loyal fan of the San Diego Padres, San Diego Chargers, and the San Diego State University Aztecs. He enjoyed attending sports events, going to the race track, going to the Casino, walking on the beach, and, most of all, taking trips to Hawaii. He enjoyed listening to music, and some of his favorite artists included Sting & The Police, The Whispers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Alanis Morissette, Sublime, Eminem, The Notorious B.I.G., Vicente Fernandez, and many more.
The birth of his son Joel, the baptizing of his Goddaughter Lety, and the birth of his Granddaughter Gianna were important life events that brought Carlos a tremendous amount of happiness and joy.
Those who knew Carlos would describe him as loving, caring, talkative, and warmhearted. He enjoyed having a good time and seeing those around him smile.
Carlos is survived by his son, Joel; his stepchildren, Raul and Ashley; his granddaughter, Gianna; his wife, Maria; his parents, Carmen and Carlos; and his siblings, Carmen, Leticia, and Victor.
