Carole Devver Ford's Obituary
Carole lived a life of endless possibilities with humility and thoughtfulness. She catered to the needs of others and always
made sure everyone was cared for despite her illness. She was often heard saying, “you gonna be alright.”She lived life
with a positive attitude and an amazing sense of humor. As a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend, she was
always so supportive, understanding and kind with a willingness to listen to your problems.
Carole Devver Ford was born in Baltimore, MD on April 12, 1943 to T. Wilson and Mary Marie Carter. Carole was the
sixth of seven children born of that union. She grew up and attended school in Baltimore, MD. She found God at an early
age and became active in church. Carole traveled and lived in many different places including Pennsylvania and
California. She and her family spent time in Los Angeles where she worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft as a
supervisor. In 1980 Carole and her family moved to San Diego where she secured a position with Anderson Advertising and worked there for over 11 years. There she met her husband Roger Dean Ford, and after 18 years of dating they
were united in Holy Matrimony on March 6, 1999. Carole had six children David, Darryl, Laurie, Mary, Tikka, Laquita all
who loved and adored their mother. Carole enjoyed bingo and fishing, and she had a sweet tooth and loved to indulge in
good chocolate. Carole enjoyed drawing cartoon characters and like to explore and go to new places, which was a
challenge since she never got her driver’s license. Her mother, father, four brothers (Wilson E, Calvin, Melvin, George)
and her son David “Beaver”, proceed her in death. She leaves to carry on and cherish her memory her husband Roger
Dean Ford, one son Darryl, and four daughters, Laurie of San Diego, Mary of Winchester, CA, Tikka (Altawan) of
Winchester, CA, Laquita (Robert) of San Diego, CA. Her brother James (Andrea), and her sister Rose Wilder. Fifteen
grandchildren Tyneeka, A’vey, Ivory, Davinia, Tashami, Tyniesha, Ariane, Shontana, Altawana, Tricia, Raymond, Tiona,
Scotty, Zachariah, Jayden, eight great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
