Charles Robert Achinakian's Obituary
Charles Robert Achinakian was born in Forrest City Arkansas on January 14, 1965 to Charles and Alice Achinakian. He lived there 4 years. In 1969 the family moved to Libertyville Illinois, where he attended Elementary School. He began playing sports in the 2nd grade. Baseball and softball mostly. He started playing football in 3rd grade. In 4th grade, he continued to play football and baseball winning many 1st place trophy’s. In 1977 the family moved to El Cajon California where Chuck attended Montgomery Middle School and eventually Valhalla High School. He continued to excel in sports. In junior high as well as in high school, he was on the football, baseball, and wrestling teams. In 7th grade he won awards for punting, passing, and kicking. During high school, he began working for Ralphs Grocery Stores. He worked there for 11 years. During that time he took an interest in Aviation, and got his private pilot’s license. After high school-- still uncertain about a career path-- he enrolled at Grossmont Community College. It was there he decided a career in Computers was what he wanted to do. He went on to get certified in Computer Hardware and Software Repair and became a Network Engineer in many of the companies he worked for; the last of which was NCR. His hobbies included snow skiing, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. He had a real love for dogs, especially Siberian Huskies. Growing up in El Cajon the family had two; Fabian, and after he died, Sachamo. When it snowed in the Laguna’s, Chuck would take Sachamo there every chance he got. He enjoyed hiking through the snow-covered mountains with his best friend-- very much. Chuck passed away at his home in El Cajon California on February 26, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Karen Rose Gilroy, and her husband, Robert Carl Gilroy of Waxahachie Texas. Funeral services will be held at Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Mt. Abernathy Avenue, San Diego, 92117. A wake will follow at the residence of Jennifer and Ryan Danowski. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any Siberian Husky Rescue such as Luna Siberian Rescue; or San Diego County Animal Shelter.
