Deena M Bauer's Obituary
Deena Marie Bauer January 28, 1961 – April 13, 2012Deena Marie Swift Bauer born in 1961 at Sharp hospital in San Diego, CA.Wife of Chris Lee BauerDaughter of Donna Faith Koski and Charles Robert SwiftMother of Stefano Celestino BrunettoAlthough native to San Diego she traveled the United States both as a young child and as an adult for relocations, pleasure, camping and family reunions. She had three sisters and two brothers and was the fourth child of the family. She did not get lost in the crowd as she was the child blessed with the sense of humor. She was active and free spirited when young and liked parties and good times. Deena was easily excitable and full of fun and determination. She was also a big flirt which she carried into adult hood. Deena was one of those kids you could never keep in school, extremely smart, cleaver and bored. She tried her hand at many jobs while growing up, donut shops, restaurants, fast food places and was a top seller for Avon, until they found out she was under age. In her early twenties she decided on nursing, put herself thru college, got a degree and went on to become an RN. A very good and proud RN. She took her job seriously and considered herself a patient advocate. She had worked in many hospitals in San Diego, her current one was Kaiser until she was diagnosed withcancer a year ago. She was a dedicated and hard worker. Always positive and compassionate with a bright smile, quick joke and a laugh, she was well liked and admired by all. Deena adored her many nursing friends and her family was very proud of her. Deena in turn loved her family and admired each and every one of them and was very proud of her son Stefano. He brought her a lot of joy and laughter, they were always close and he bought a home near her. When Deena married Chris in August 1987, she always felt she had married her true best friend. They enjoyed their many home remodeling projects, the outdoors camping and traveling trips where they always took their loving pets. They were like two peas in a pod, very much in love, soul mates and partners in life. Deena was always a good hostess and loved being around family and friends on the holidays. She loved to play games, listened to all kinds of music and enjoyed dancing. She easily cried like the rest of her sisters and mother during movies. She was very creative as you could see in the decorating of her homes, her gardens and her life. Deena had a lot of goals and when one project was completed she was busy looking for the next one. However, she was always willing to lend a hand if you needed one. She had recently bought and furnished her retirement home and was looking forward to retiring at an early age. She had definitely not planned to leave us at this early time. She wanted to live life to the fullest but she dealt with the deck of cards she was handed with a quiet bravery and dignity few possess. Deena leaves her very large family of husband, son, mother, father, step mother, mother in law, sisters and sister in laws, brothers and brother in laws, many nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends and co workers with the loving and cherished memory of her humor and laughter which will not be forgotten. Deena often said this past year … “Live life with No Regrets”.
