Diana Pappas' Obituary
Diana Pappas, age 72, was born on June 19, 1953, in Camp Roberts, California. As the daughter of Michael and Helen Pappas, Diana spent her early years traveling to many places due to her father’s military service, including Camp Roberts, California; Germany; El Paso, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Massachusetts; Michigan and Alaska. She was the second of four children in her family.
Diana attended various schools throughout her life and pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by studying cosmetology, earning her degree as a beautician. She began her career as a hairstylist and later owned and operated her own appliance repair business with a business partner for several years.
After a work-related injury, Diana became disabled and eventually moved to San Diego in 1990 to care for her parents. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt whose compassion and generosity touched everyone around her.
Diana was a born-again Christian and a faithful member of her church community. She actively participated in church events, Bible study, and activities at the Morena Activity Center. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she lived each day with kindness and purpose.
She was known for her giving heart, adventurous spirit, fun-loving personality, and deep passion for the people and things she loved. Among her greatest joys were becoming an aunt and spending time with her family.
Diana enjoyed shopping, going to casinos, and dining out with friends and family. She had a love for country and Christian music and often shared her favorite songs with her loved ones. Some of her favorite movies included all of the My Big Fat Greek Wedding movies, military and war movies, and those starring Jason Statham.
She cherished the friendship and companionship of her dear friends Oliver King, Dianne Wierzbicki McGuirk and Corinne Altomare.
Diana is survived by her sister, Dena Pappas; her niece, Kristina Pappas; and two nephews. Her warmth, laughter, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Diana’s legacy of love, faith, and family devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
