Doris Jean Berndt's Obituary
Doris Berndt passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 92. Doris was born on September 7, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up loving ice-skating, drawing, sewing, and playing with her younger sister, Jane. Her twin sister, Lois, unfortunately died shortly after their First Communion at age 9 from an illness. During high school, Doris worked at a bakery where she learned how to make many special desserts. After high school, her typing and shorthand skills led to a career as a secretary.
She met Paul at a dance sponsored by the Catholic singles group in Cleveland. They married in July 1952. Doris was proud to be a homemaker and mother to two girls. During their 57 years of marriage, they lived in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and California. Paul passed away in 2009.
Doris loved volunteering at school events, taking floral arranging and cake decorating classes and ballroom dancing with her husband, Paul. Her specialty was being a wonderful wife, mother of 2, grandmother of 4, and great-grandmother of 13. God gave her the gift of 92 years to make our world a better place. It is now time to be with your husband, family members, and friends.
