Reddinger, Edward Lynn. 10/6/1941 – 11/20/2013 SAN DIEGO — Edward Reddinger was born inDuBois, PA on October 6,1941 to Edward Dale Reddinger and Valjeanne Ruth Reddinger (neeBovaird), and he was raised in Indiana, PA, where he would meet his future wife. He joined the navyin 1959, and married his high-school sweetheart, Carol, in 1963. Later that year while stationed inVallejo, CA, they welcomed their first daughter, Victoria. They then moved to San Diego, where theirsecond daughter, Cindy, was born in 1966, the same year he joined the civil service. Known as Ed tohis family and friends, he retired in 1996 and had since filled his days with long walks with his dogs atSan Diego’s Fiesta Island as well as Kearny Mesa Dog Park, and boisterous family dinners with hiswife, children and grandchildren. He was succeeded in death by his father and step-mother Edith. Heis survived by his mother Valjeanne, wife of 50 years, Carol, and daughters Victoria Webster (Jon)and Cindy Packer (Raf), as well is his brothers Tom and Ted, and his half-siblings Kent Sherman andRhonda Riskosky. He is also survived by his six beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Shea, Renan,Justin, Colin and Kaelin, who will always remember him as their straight-shooting, ever-loving,flannel-wearing Grandpa. Services will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Wednesday,December 4 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to the HumaneSociety of San Diego at 5500 Gaines Street.
