Eric’s passion for life, his family and friends was insatiable, he loved so many things and was always looking to make everyone laugh. He loved to laugh, he loved any kind of comedy movie or show, food and the beach, spending weekends adventuring and playing like a big kid while off-roading in his jeep with his wife, kids and friends. Eric also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and often referred to it as “wind therapy” most of all he loved his family his pets and he loved being barefoot.
There were many sides to Eric, he was so talented, he played guitar and sang, he was a incredibly intelligent and handled all of our computer networking, he was mechanically inclined and worked on all of his jeeps, he was a painter and a poet, he was quick on his feet and even quicker with his wit and silly antics. Eric’s heart was of gold and he was loyal through thick and thin to those who loved him. Eric wanted to travel and spend time with his Grandchildren he wanted to explore and really breath in life to the fullest, his candle was diminished to quickly in this life, he was taken from us to soon, this pain and loss has affected us all. In his memory we share this poem to help ease the loss of such a great husband and father son and friend.
“Please do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that gently blow.
I am the diamond glints that shines on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened rain.
When you awake in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting positive rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft yet so bright stars that shine at night
Please do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there I did not die.”
Eric is survived by: 5 Children – Elise McKenna Manon, Jack Francis, Nathaniel J Navar, Emma Marie and Kirsten Lee Angel, his Grandson William and soon to be Grand daughter due in April of this year. Eric had two brothers Kevin and Michael, his parents Robert and Manon and Grandparents Carl and Norma. This list is not long enough to extend the impact that he had on multiple peoples lives although not blood relations Eric had several people that he considered family and cherished deeply. Thank you all for loving him for who he was, please carry out his memory in your hearts, stories and minds. You will forever be loved.
Poem Written By: Eric Jason Findley for his Wife Stephanie Marie Findley
A glass of wine, cigarettes and good conversation that was where we started.
You picked up the pieces of a man broken hearted. Best friends from the start and look at us now. I gave up on finding love and you found me anyhow.
Remember the sandwich that we shared together one evening on a grassy hill?
That moment I realized I’d love you forever. The night lay perfectly still, we jumped in the 69 Chrysler and left without wasting any time to start a new life of two souls combined.
You gave me your heart and I gave you mine.
The Chrysler has died so we bought a compact, I cut off my curls, I thought you’d like it like that. Got a full time job, a room with no view. I know you’re tired and the kids can make you nutty, I promise I’ll be home soon.
Well here we are a new baby girl in our arms, I have told you lately your a great mother? The times had gotten ruff, it seemed no tears were enough. I’ll make it all better, grab the phone, call the sitter get the helmet, lets ride then make love all night.
How many times have I wanted to cry but tears always fail my eyes. And I would agree that love you and me well we’ve been through easier times, just trust me it gets better, don’t give up on me let me love you for all eternity.
