Eugenia (Jeanne) Conyne's Obituary
Eugenia Rachel “Jeanne” Conyne, 90, of San Diego, CA passed away on Monday, January 1st, 2024.
Jeanne was born in 1933 in Bismarck, North Dakota, daughter of the late Lloyd and Metka Anderson. She attended St Mary’s Catholic School in Bismarck and later University of Mexico & Montgomery College. She met Bruce Conyne while in high school. They married in 1958 at Ft Belvoir Virginia after his return from Army service in Germany. She loved being a wife and mother and did a great job navigating the family through multiple moves to follow her husband’s career until he settled in Washington DC and they later retired to San Diego.
Most of her career was spent as a housewife and doting mom— room parenting, carpooling to activities and volunteer officiating at sporting events. She loved being a caregiver for two of her grandchildren. She also practiced real estate for several years in the 1970s and 80s. She was a reading volunteer at a local elementary school and a member of Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, San Diego, CA.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bruce, San Diego, daughter Michelle (Nels), San Diego, and son Bob, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Sean, Adam, Hunter and Katie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Micki Hansen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Feeding San Diego Backpack Program.
