Eva Jane Diaz's Obituary
Eva Was born in her parents home in the neighborhood of Kalihi, Oahu Hawaii. Growing up she would walk the mountain trails, barefoot, to the windward side to pick up wildflowers for her mother. Tough Island Gal.
On December 07,1941, she could hear the explosions and see the smoke coming from pearl harbor. During World War ll Eva worked at Hickam Air Field refurbishing airplane part for the Army Air Core. On September 02,1944, she married her sweetheart Joseph Diaz. Joseph was at that time serving in the Hawaii Coast Guard. After the war, Eva and her husband moved to San Diego, where he was employed at the Naval Training Center. Eva was employed with the Fed Mart department stores for 22 years. She survived her three children Joseph, Yvonne, Stanley, one nephew and several nieces. Also eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Eva and her husband were married for 63 1/2 years she will be interned with her late husband Joseph at the Fort Rosecrans National cemetery. No services planned.
