Frances Bernadette Montisano's Obituary
Frances Bernadette Montisano
1930-2025
We lost our beloved matriarch, Frances, shortly before her 95th birthday. Frances was born in Massachusetts to Frank and Vitina Di Martino where she lived until moving to San Diego, California in 1959 with her children and husband, Anthony Montisano. In San Diego Tony and Fran established strong family ties and raised their three children in a loving home. Fran worked for Safeway until her retirement. She was known for her warm hospitality, her delicious and abundant meals, her casino skills, and her devotion to her family.
Frances is survived by her children, Dominic (Debra), Anthony Jr., and Deborah Joyce, as well as her grandchildren Christopher Montisano, Cara Collins, Amy Thomas, and Joseph Joyce. Her great grandchildren, Aidan, Joel, Dominic, Jillian, Owen, Elliott, Greta, Mackenzie, and Dahlia will treasure the memories of holiday celebrations at the home of Grandma Fran and Grandpa Tony. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marie Woods (Roger) and brothers Nicholas and Frank Jr. She is preceded in passing by her devoted husband, Tony, her cherished grandchildren Andrea Montisano, Matthew Joyce, and her brother Domenic.
Frances will be laid to rest with her husband at Miramar National Cemetery. The Montisano family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who have shared their loving memories of Frances. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her memory to Big Worm’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, https://www:bigwormscff.org
