Arnold Rosenstock
I am saddened to learn of the passing of Gil Alexander Sensei. I began my karate journey with Sensei Gil when he taught the class in the evening center at Evander Childs High School in the Bronx. Because the class was not going to progress beyond basics, I moved to a Taekwon-do school in Riverdale. In 1970 I entered dental school and did not train again until I retired in 2012. At that time, Since then I have trained in Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu, Taiji, an Okinawan weapons. In conversation on the Facebook Ryukyu Research and Discussion Group I had inquired as to whether anyone knew of Sensei Gil and was treated to that photo, but not much more. I searched elsewhere but without much luck. I am pleased to learn that he lived a fruitful life and remains a blessed memory to his family, He will always be relevant in my life. Domo arigato gozaimashita, Gil Sensei! I bow with respect to your memory.
