Douglas Mcmillion
I knew Irma from the 60s, when I met secretly with her daughter Mariana every morning to walk her to school. I stayed in touch with her long after I discharged from the USAF. Once she found out about me and had me over for dinner, I think it was 7th grade, she made Tacos. From then until I was a Sergeant in the Air Force , she called me her "Taquito". She always had a bottle of Bushmills to serve me, knowing I was Irish I suppose. I always thought Mariana and I would marry one day, and live out our years together. I think she was kept at bay by her friend. Lol Eventually she married a different Doug, which left me shocked. But, Irma and I remained close. I would visit now and again through the years. I moved and hadn't heard of her passing until now. I wishvI had gotten to kiss her goodbye. I'll always have sweet memories of her giving me Bushmills in her kitchen. She was a wonderful and eloquent woman. I loved her dairly...
All my love,
Your Taquito
