I was so sorry to hear of Jacqui's passing. She was a valued member of the Bellator Law Group Team and we were sorry to lose her, but happy she landed on her (wheels) in another challenging paralegal position.
I recall with fondness her ardent advocacy for the disabled community and, opposition to unfair actions by others. Although I won't be attending services in person, I'll be there in spirit. I will be thinking of her as I participate in the No Kings protest scheduled for the same day. I imagine Jacqui would have been there too, and will imagine her wheeling through the crowd, raising her own voice in support of others.

Jacqui was such a good friend to me during my MA program at SDSU. She even met to help me decide next steps on my academic career. Here we are dressed as characters from Jane Eyre (I think) during a class on Victorian Literature.

One of my greatest memories of Jackie was when she and I took the GRE's -- the test to get into graduate school -- at the same time. I was Jackie's professor and wanted to get my doctorate, and she was getting her master's.
During the test, there was one word that completely baffled me. It was an Old English word, and I had no idea what the right answer was at all. After the vocabulary section was finished and we were on break, Jackie and I compared notes. I asked about the word. Jackie totally knew it! She had me beat, that much is certain!
