Sincerest condolences to Jim's family. So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I played with Jim on 4 of Kerry's NY Championship wins in the late 50's and early 60's.RIPEddie Keane (Ballybunion, Co. Kerry)
I am a cousin of Jim's I went to Fybough school with him and his brother Mike and sister Nell. I want to extend my sincerest condolences to his daughter and her family and his siblings in Hartford and Ireland. Visiting Hartford to play a football game was a challenge because Jim set the standard for Gaelic football in the US. I regret not hearing of his death sooner.Sincerely Mike Foley Ballyarkane

Foley, you were always the "best", including the best man at our wedding. You and Vince were a hoot together and I will always cherish the love and friendship we all had. Thank you for starting the St. Patrick's Day parade, without that, I would have never met Vince or all the other great people that were involved at the beginning of such an endeavor. Say "Hi" to Pat and thank her again for going to TJ to get the booze and hide V.W. for our 1983 wedding. You are always in our heart. Vince Lynch and Charlene Bromley.
It was a privilege to know Jim and to provide some of the live music at The Blarney Stone many years ago. My wife Cheryl and I will remember Jim's advice to us at the Brian Baine's benefit at Hooley's to take care of each other and live each day to the fullest. Jim was always a gentleman and a pleasure to work for and with.
Thoughts and prayers to Siobhan and family. Jim, your presence will truly be missed. Heaven gained an angel. Love you
I only learned of Jim's passing when I returned from Ireland following the Christmas holidays – he and Pat welcomed me on a past trip to San Diego and couldn't have been finer hosts. When my son was younger, Jim would pick him up every weekend and take him to the Irish Club in Hartford to learn and play Gaelic football – he so enjoyed mixing with the young lads on the field. Please say "hello" to Pat for me, and may you rest in peace.Mary McCann, East Hartford, CT
