Jean Marie Klug's Obituary
Jean Marie Klug age 86, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on 7/23/2022 at her sister's home in Ramona, Ca. Jean was born July 20, 1936, in Easton, Pa. to the late Rose and Louis Lombardo. She graduated from Hazleton High School, Hazleton, Pa. in 1954. Following graduation Jean completed Comptometer School in Wilkes Barre, Pa. & worked as a Key-Punch operator for several yrs. Jean married William (Bill) J Klug in 1958, who is now deceased. They resided in Drums, Pa. for a short time before moving to San Diego, CA. in 1963, following her many extended family members.
Throughout her life Jean remained very involved in the community. She was a well-known successful businesswomen, a member of the National Notary Association & actively involved with her own Mobile Notary Business named "Granny On the Go". She developed her Notary Business in 2003 & maintained it until her recent illness. Over the past 35 years, Jean assisted & brought together many organizations. Her goal was promoting businesses, organizing their events & fund raising through a Networking Business. Jean was recognized as the #1 Networker in San Diego, CA. She was on the planning committee for the Jackie Robinson YMCA MLK Awards Breakfast & was very involved in helping raise awareness & donations for the Jackie Robinson's YMCA. She was a Chapter Director of the Blue Thong Society, which is a unique women's organization that connects, inspires, and mobilizes women to make a difference in their communities and around the globe.
Her many other achievements were President of the San Diego Referral Inc., Executive Director San Diego Women Inc., Member of the African American Business Women of Vision, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce San Diego, Business Women's Network, Association of Home Based Businesses, the Toastmasters Club & Mixers. Jean belonged to many more organizations throughout her career, donating much of her own time & money helping others who needed it most & receiving multiple Community Awards & Citations too numerous to mention. Her purpose in life was to help people make a difference in the world by freely giving of herself. Jean certainly succeeded in doing so.
She was a very outgoing person spending most of her time with her many friends & relatives. She was always ready to try something new & exciting, including traveling thru the Glamus Desert sand dunes in her sister's Jeep 4x4. Jean loved going to Mission Bay Park to enjoy the view & to Costco to have her diet coke while watching the people walk by.
Jean is survived by her sister Connie (Lombardo) Miller, brother-in-law Ron Miller, and nephew R. Jason Miller who reside in Ramona, CA. She is predeceased by most of her extended family. She will definitely be missed by her family, a host of very close friends David Davenport, Roseann Dickenson-Wall, Kenneth Kidd, Stuart Menn, Sharon McCoy, John McIntyre, Larry Moderno, Bill & Barbara Sperling & all her special Amway friends. Jean will also be deeply missed by Alex, Max, & Gracie Davenport who affectionately called her Nonna.
