Jeanie and family, It is with great sadness that I learned just today of Jerry's passing. I worked at La Jolla Crab Catcher in the 80's as an office clerk and part time waitress in the Oyster bar. Jerry was a force to be reckoned with, and a great leader. He knew what he wanted and had a stern yet soft way of conveying his wishes. He was an excellent business man, but more importantly, a strong family man. I also remember working with Rob in the office before he went off to Stanford for college,. He was also a fine young man. The younger boys could always be seen at the restaurant, and it is hard to believe they are all grown up. Perhaps this is a strange thing to post on his obituary, but I had a dream about the Crab Catcher last night and the whole family was in the dream, including all of the children. It was a wonderful dream and included the amazing Christmas gifts that Jeani gave us every year, some of which I still have here in New York. That is actually the reason I looked up Jerry's name today, to see if he was still with us. So very sorry to see that he is gone, but so happy he passed peacefully. I was in my 20's when I worked there, and he did give the aura of a father figure to all of us. Especially those of us who were far far away from home .You all have never left my memories. God bless you and thank you for all of those years on the beautiful La Jolla cove, and including us as your staff and part of the Crab Catcher family. With warmest sympathy,
