Jesse Michel Ramirez's Obituary
Jesse Michel Ramirez, 76, a native Californian, spent most of his life in San Diego, CA.
Michel, as he was known to many, attended Kimball Elementary School in National City, National City Junior High, Sweetwater High School, Southwestern Junior College & San Diego State University. After obtaining a law degree at Western School of Law, he obtained a Master of Social Work. Michel worked and retired as a County of San Diego Social Worker.
In his youth, Michel, a man of deep faith, was active in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in National City, CA. As an adult, Michel, a giving man, served as a beloved usher, an active parishioner, rosary leader, men’s group leader and as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Michel enjoyed his friends, and later in life, was a member of the Park De La Cruz Senior Center and various groups within the Hillcrest and North Park area of San Diego, CA. His work and interest in local politics and advocacy helped to make the world a better place.
Michel loved to sing, sail, go on adventures, and appreciated games, books and things that stimulated the mind as well as the soul. Michel loved his family and as a generous soul, was a devoted son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and partner. He assisted in the care of his aged parents, Jesse and Maria Ramirez, until their passing.
Michel is survived by his two sisters; Celia (Ramirez) Jorgensen and her husband, Alan Jorgensen. Michel’s sister, Mary Jospehine (Ramirez) Valdivia and her husband, Guillermo Valdivia and their married children, Veronica Valdivia Solaris and her husband Brett, Hernan Valdivia and his spouse, Amy, and their two children Chloe and Emma and nephew, Gustavo and his spouse, Yassarette, and their two children, Julian and Camila.
Dearest Michel, beloved son, our brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grand uncle, godfather, friend and Knight, you will be forever cherished and remembered. Michel departed this world on October 7, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 28, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3538 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92104-4142
