I worked with Mike for many years. He was a wealth of information and resources. At a time when funding was nonexistent, he helped our organization stay afloat. He was a great man and I feel honored to have been his friend. Rest in Peace my friend. Andrew R Jones USBP retired.
I had the privilege of working for Mike in the San Diego Sector Border Patrol Logistics Unit. He was a strong mentor and father figure to me and many others. I do not have the words to truly express the positive influence he had on us. Although I had not seen him in many years, I thought of him often. He was kind, firm and fair. He will be missed.
……I first met Mike when I began to work for him in Logistics on September,1998. He was always extremely generous and caring to so many he came in contact with. He treated me like the father I never had; motivating me in becoming a better person. I was fortunate to have met him. I am honored in joining his family in bidding farewell to a warrior and a friend.
Our sincere condolences to the Gill family on this sad occasion.Mike was a true American hero. I met Mike when he was the Border Patrol's Logistics Officer in San Diego and it was an honor to work with him. He was a highly decorated Army veteran of two wars and he served our country with great distinction. Mikes family is in my thoughts and prayers.Respectfully,
I worked with Mike in the 94 through 97 Time Frame here in Charleston, SC. I found us to be kindred spirits, since both of us had a special operations background.
