I had the privilege of working for Mike in the San Diego Sector Border Patrol Logistics Unit. He was a strong mentor and father figure to me and many others. I do not have the words to truly express the positive influence he had on us. Although I had not seen him in many years, I thought of him often. He was kind, firm and fair. He will be missed.
I worked with Mike for many years. He was a wealth of information and resources. At a time when funding was nonexistent, he helped our organization stay afloat. He was a great man and I feel honored to have been his friend. Rest in Peace my friend. Andrew R Jones USBP retired.
The loss of Mike is a tremendous loss to his family and friends and leaves a vacuum in our lives. We have never known a better man who we came to love and cherish for all of his wonderful qualities. May he rest forever at the side of his maker.Ron & Myrna Smith

……I first met Mike when I began to work for him in Logistics on September,1998. He was always extremely generous and caring to so many he came in contact with. He treated me like the father I never had; motivating me in becoming a better person. I was fortunate to have met him. I am honored in joining his family in bidding farewell to a warrior and a friend.
I had the pleasure of working for Mike, otherwise known to us, as the "Old Man" in 1998 and again in 2001. Mike was a great friend, who often gave me fatherly advice, when needed. He will truly be missed. God Speed My Friend…

I worked with Mike in the 94 through 97 Time Frame here in Charleston, SC. I found us to be kindred spirits, since both of us had a special operations background.
