Jack grew up in Western Pennsylvania and peacefully entered Heaven's gates surrounded by his loving family in his San Diego home, by design.
Jack had an unwavering faith in God. He went to St. Joseph High School and was an altar boy. He was a member of OMC church for 56 years and volunteer usher. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and George, his sister, Betty Jean, his daughter, Susan, his grandson Joe and his beloved wife of 70 years, Jean. Jack is survived by eight of his nine children, Mike (Nancy), Kathy (Alan Fulmer), Pat Glenna), Gary (Rosie), David, Dana (Becky). Marianne (Gary Loper), and Diane along with many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was a volunteer fire fighter and enjoyed playing the trumpet in the Fire Fighter Band & USMC Band. He served his country proudly in the USMC from 1948-1968. He was instrumental in the computer field starting in the 1950's. In 1968, he joined Hydro Products (Honeywell), a data processing manager for 21 years. His passion for technology carried with him his entire life. He was emailing, texting, and using his iPhone to stay in touch with family and friends well into his 90's. He was an extremely dedicated and proud father and husband. He enjoyed his retirement traveling with Jean, playing keno at the casinos, going to Padres games, and playing lots of golf. He was an avid sports fan (basketball, baseball, golf and football), he was often seen waving the Pittsburgh Steelers terrible towel. Jack was an Officer on the High Court for the IOF. Jack and Jean took their kids camping and fishing with the Hitch & Go camping club for 20 years and hosted Bunco in their home for decades with those same friends.
Jack was a very fun-loving, outgoing, and social person who embodied the spirit of happy hour! He was loyal, generous, and special to everyone who met him. He could always be counted on to help lend a hand, a smile, or a hug. He will best be remembered for all things sweet... See's Candy, doughnuts, and pie all as sweet as he was!!!. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten and the wonderful memories we have of him along with the lasting impressions he left on our hearts, will remain with us forever.
