JOHN LEE RHODEN
John Lee Rhoden went home to be with the Lord and reunite with his beloved wife on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at 11:25 p.m. He passed away at his home in San Diego.
John was born on June 27, 1936, in Town Creek, Alabama. He married Martha Sims in 1955, and they moved to California in 1957. John and Martha were together until her death in 2001.
John worked at General Atomics and Maxwell Laboratories and was later a partner in the purchase of MAGNEFORM, aka Maxwell MAGNEFORM. He retired in 1999. John had a passion for cars, boats, and motorcycles, and he and Martha loved to travel.
John is survived by daughter Donna Forsyth; son Keith Rhoden and wife Marcia; grandchildren Adam Miller, Cera Vaught, Katheryn Biggers and husband Jason, and Kelsey, Kassandra, and Kiley Rhoden; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Guinevere Veniegas and Gunnar Vaught; brother Ken Rhoden and wife Connie; sister Margaret Moreland; sisters-in-law Mary Holland and Glenda Sims; and brother-in-law Leroy Sims.
A viewing will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 4 – 8 p.m., at Clairemont Mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, June 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 2640 Glenridge Road, Escondido, CA 92027. Telephone number (760) 745-1781.
