José Luis Morón, a retired architectural drafter, passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 82 in San Diego, CA. Born on October 16, 1939, in Bosencheve, Mexico, José Luis was proud and generous to the end.
José Luis had a passion for architecture and spent his career as an architectural drafter, contributing to the creation of beautiful structures including Tampa Bay's Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida and Canada's Confederation Bridge, which in 1997 connected the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for the first time. His attention to detail made him an invaluable asset in the field.
José Luis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his sons Richard Eitzen of San Diego, CA, Michael Eitzen of Fort Worth, TX, and Francisco Morán of New York, NY, as well as his granddaughter Isabella Moran of Baton Rouge, LA. He is also survived by his sister Lourdes Morón Solano, and brothers José Manuel Morón and Jorge Morón, all of Ecatepec, Mexico.
José Luis Morón was preceded in death by his mother Herminia Vilchis Velázquez, father Vicente Morón Gómez, sister María López Vilchis, brother Cayetano Morón Vilchis, wife Linda (Giustino) Morón, and son Alejandro “Alex” Luis Moran.
José Luis Morón received his education in Mexico from the Escuela Secundaria Maestro Vicente Lombardo Toledano, the prestigious Colegio de San Ildefonso, and Mexico’s flagship university, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
José Luis Morón's dedication to his craft and his hardworking, generous nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
