June Eileen Dunbar Watson June 7, 1924 – August 28, 2016 San Diego June Eileen Amanda Dunbar Watson passed away peacefully at her San Diego home with family by her side. The daughter of Adele (Andersen) and John Dunbar, June was born in Paris, France. She attended early schooling in England and migrated to the United States in 1936 settling in New York City with her mother, brother Jack and sister Adele. Upon marrying Joseph Watson in 1948 she lived in Lawrence, Massachusetts for 25 years where she raised her four children: John “Shane,” Judy, Jamie and Jeannie. June and Joe retired in San Diego in 1975. June enjoyed spending time with her family, making crafts for the church bazaars, cooking, and water aerobics, which she taught until her mid-80s! June was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years in 2000, son Jamie in 2008 and brother Jack in 2011. She is survived by her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her very special sister Adele and brother-in-law Herb Hansen of Las Vegas, sister-in-law Ann Dunbar of Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins. June was a devout Catholic and 40-year member of St. Catherine Laboure Church where a mass celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the San Diego Alzheimer’s Association .
