Kathleen Ella Silva's Obituary
Kathleen Ella Silva, age 48, passed away peacefully. Born on October 28, 1976, in Shreveport, LA, Kathleen spent her early years there until 1984 when her family moved to Springfield, IL. In 1992, they relocated to El Paso, TX, where Kathleen attended Irvin High School. She later moved to San Diego, CA, in 1997, where she resided until her passing in 2024.
Kathleen was the youngest of eight children, born to Charles Gibson and Marguerite Chapman. She married Ramiro Silva on April 8, 1994, in El Paso, TX, and together they built a loving family in San Diego. Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband, Ramiro Silva; her daughters, Angeline Love Li and Victoria Marie Silva; her son, Ramiro Silva; her brothers: Glen, Jonathon, Keith and Daniel Gibson; and her sisters, Maria Winneh, Kelly Von Mock, and Dawn Farish.
Kathleen had a fulfilling career as an Assistant Director at Outreach Military, dedicating 16 years to supporting military families. Although not in the military herself, she was a proud Navy wife for 28 years, embodying the spirit of service and community.
A devout Catholic, Kathleen was known for her affectionate, caring, and compassionate nature. She was a gentle and trusted friend to many. Kathleen enjoyed writing, painting, and knitting, finding joy and creativity in these hobbies. Her favorite song was “Paradise City” by Guns N’ Roses, and she loved the movie “The Boondock Saints.”
Kathleen’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served so faithfully
