Lan Vu's Obituary
Vũ Thị Lan, 88, passed away on April 29, 2023, joining her husband, Mai Xuan Sinh, in their eternal home.
Lan was born on June 10, 1935, to Vu Xuân Quế and Vũ Thị Vương in Sa Chau Giao Thuy Bui Chu, Vietnam. She was the 2nd of 5 sisters. In 1952, she married Mai Xuan Sinh. In 1954, they escaped communism in the North and moved to the South, where her husband joined the South Vietnam Army. Between 1954 to 1975, they both traveled to many cities in South Vietnam including Hue, Phan Thiet, Blao, Saigon and they finally settled in Bien Hoa, where she dedicated her life to taking care of her 9 children. In 1993, Lan moved to San Diego where she continued to care for her family and involved herself with the Vietnamese Catholic Mothers at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Lan valued her family above all else, always being gentle and loving. During her short illness, she was surrounded by her loving children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Listed below are her surviving family members:
