Lloyd Carroll Sime's Obituary
Lieutenant Commander Lloyd C. Sime, 92, passed away on February 13, 2015. A veteran of World War II., Korea, and Vietnam, he flew the Douglas Skyraider off the USS Princeton and other Naval aircraft carriers.
Lloyd was born on January 24, 1923 in Faulkton, S.D. to Arthur and Edna Sime. He joined the US Navy on March 3, 1943. Following designation as a Naval Aviator, he participated in combat in the Korean War, flying from carriers in a special night attack and all weather squadron. Later, he served as an Intelligence Officer at the Pentagon. After retiring from the military, Lloyd worked in the Planning Department for the County of San Diego.
Survivors include: wife Frances Sime of San Diego: Daughter: Karyn Biasca of Stevens Point, WI; Grandchildren: Kara Biasca of Chicago, IL and Paul Biasca of Memphis, TN; Stepdaughters: Susan Guy of San Diego and Catherine Guy of Redlands, CA.
A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, 2:00 pm, March 2, 2015 at Miramar National Cemetery. There will be a reception at the family’s home immediately following the service.
