Manuel L Caballero's Obituary
Manuel “Manny” Caballero, 78 was born on January 11, 1945 in Tijuana, Mexico. As a young child, he and his family moved to Logan Heights, San Diego, where he grew up. He was the second oldest of his five siblings; Rudy, Dyan, Carmen, and Jimmy. His parents were Manuel and Maria Caballero. He attended San Diego High School and then went on to be a general manager for Jack in the Box for 22 years. After he retired from Jack in the Box he owned flower shops and started Caballero’s Furniture, which he primarily sold at Kolbey's Swap Meet, and then Manny worked for Sports Palace, next to Petco Park, for many years before becoming a full time grandparent.
Manny is survived by his four children, Manny, Juan, Chris, and Alicia, his eleven grandchildren, Colton, Karlee, Kayla, Phoenix, Alexis, Nina, Katelyn, Jada, Kenslee, Ava, and Brisa, and his nephews and nieces.
In life Manny was kind, hard working, funny, athletic, and loved to spend time with family. Throughout his life he was an avid Tennis player, after high school he would enter and win competitions. He was part of the Balboa Tennis Club. He loved to watch old westerns and enjoyed watching movies.
His memorial will be held on December 22, 2023 at Clairemont Mortuary from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
