Margaret Ellen Mulkern's Obituary
Margaret Ellen “Meg” Mulkern March 15, 1939 – February 1, 2018 died Thursday after a long illness, at age 78. Born Margaret Hinchey in Rutland, Vt., she graduated from Boston College and moved to San Diego. She lived in Mission Beach where she met her husband, Kevin Mulkern, her then-next door neighbor. They were married for 53 years. She worked as a primary school teacher and later in life became a bridge enthusiast. She is survived by her daughters Anne Mulkern and Maureen McPherson, sisters Suzanne Schmer and Mary Jean Adamick, son-in-law Mick McPherson, daughter-in-law Lisa Mulkern Caney, grandsons Ryan Mulkern, Aidan, Brennan, and Liam McPherson, granddaughter Mandi Randall, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin, and son Stephen Mulkern.Funeral Mass is Wednesday at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Miramar National Cemetery.
