Marilyn Joan Stout's Obituary
Marilyn Joan Stout passed away at the age of 93 on July 25, 2025, in her home in San Diego California.
She was born in Walla Walla, WA on July 21, 1932, to John Allen Wallace and Minnie Wallace. Marilyn went to Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma where she obtained her degree and became a medical technician. She met the love of her life, Robert Casey Stout (Bob), in Tacoma when he was stationed at Fort Lewis. They married in December of 1953 and lived most of their lives in San Diego.
Marilyn had many family members that she treasured, those that have since passed (†) and those that are still here today; husband Bob Stout †, daughters Diane Fernandez † , Margie Stout and Mary Lynn Adams, son Robert Stout, grandchildren Robert Anthony Cardoza, Christina Cardoza, Victoria Castillo, Monica Fernandez, Veronica Fernandez, Jasmine Adams, Andy Adams, and Cara Stout, and great-grandchildren Isabella Cardoza, Jacqueline Cardoza, Ariana Cardoza, Cayla Boggs, Jaxon Boggs, Joshua Martinez, Jordan Gonzalez, Gianni Escobar, Alexa Escobar, and Savana Sky †.
While her children were in school, Marilyn was involved in all kinds of school related activities, including the PTA and running a snack shack at San Diego high school. She was active at her church where she was a member of the Carillon bell choir for many years. One of her favorite activities was to go to garage sales! She loved to get a bargain and in her later years acquired many children's items for Birthline of San Diego. She really enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, and after husband Bob retired, they both went on many cruises to explore the world.
After her husband Bob passed, she went on a few more cruises with the family. It was great for the family to go cruising with her! Marilyn was kind, generous, and loving! She was an amazing Mom, Grandma, Grammy, and Great Grandma!
A memorial service will be held at St Marks Methodist Church (3502 Claremont Drive) on August 24th at 3:00.
