Mary Alice Jackson's Obituary
Mary Alice Jackson, age 80, was born on November 23, 1935, in Calexico, California, and passed away peacefully on December 15, 2015, in San Diego, California, with the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Mike Jackson Sr., by her side. Loving and devoted mother of Mike Jackson Jr., Linda Coker, Diana Pravlis and Penny Roe. Proud grandmother of Sean Coker, Tiffany Coker, Emily Pravlis, Alecos Pravlis and Daryl Jackson-Gold, and great grandmother of Logan Coker. Further survived by brothers Robert Farpella, Neil Farpella and William James Farpella and sister Dorothy Fortner.
Mary Alice was at her happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Her home was always open to loved ones, which made her heart full and became a place where decades of memories will forever be cherished on account of her kind heart and loving nature. After having four beautiful children, she spent her early years babysitting her nieces, nephews, cousins and many of the neighborhood children. Once they grew up, she spent the next 29 years working for the San Diego Unified School District. If you asked Mary Alice what her biggest accomplishment in life was, she would be the first to say becoming a grandmother. She lived for her grandchildren and the impact she had on each one of their lives is truly inspirational. If you were lucky enough to have shared a smile with Mary Alice, then you know she made the world a better place and you will forever remember the capacity of her love.
A viewing will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Monday, December 21, 2015, at Clairemont Mortuary. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at 10AM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Clairemont Mortuary followed by a burial at Greenwood Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, Donna and Kelsi, who devoted their time and love to Mary Alice and her family.
