Merilyn Joquette Cortes' Obituary
Merilyn was born in Portsmouth , Virginia to Jose C. and Isabel N. Tedpaogo. She is the third child of 6 siblings. She attended Freese elementary, Bell Jr. High and Graduated from Morse High School.
She now joins her parents Jose C and Isabel N 'Tedpaogo, brothers Joseph and Jody Tedpaogo and her Paternal and Maternal Grandparents and numerous Uncles, Aunts and Cousins in Heaven.
Merilyn enjoyed many forms of entertainment she was very passionate about music, she loved singing, and dancing. She also enjoyed various movies and TV shows, her favorites were often soap operas, comedies, documentaries and trivia shows. It is because of her love of knowledge and higher education she would constantly test her brain, by doing various puzzles, board games, card games, and trivias. Especially when relatives came over to visit. Merilyn had a magnetic aura, she was always the life of the party and her presence always left an impression on those who interacted with her.
She was also a lover of animals and enjoyed playing with a variety of pets, ranging from rabbits, birds, turtles, fishes, and dogs.
She often dabbled in fashion and enjoyed styling herself, and her kids, in a variety of outfits, and accessories she enjoyed shopping and socializing with friends and family.
Lastly she enjoyed cooking, trying many new dishes and cuisines it is her love of food that she would find her true passion. She showed her love by feeding others and bringing people together. She worked in Food services until the mid 2000s.
She gave birth to her first son Louie Cortes in 1990 and her second son Michael in 1993. Her personality would influence her two boys throughout their lives.
She is survived by her sons Louie and Michael Cortes, brothers Johnny, Tony and Ken Tedpaogo, Sister in Law Sandra Tedpaogo and Nephews Rudy Acosta , Robert ( Vanessa ) Acosta. Johnny ( Bri ) Tedpaogo, Chris ( Liz ) Tedpaogo, Nieces Sabrina and Sierra Tedpaogo. She is additionally survived by her Uncles and Aunts John ( Georgia) Naputi, Jose ( Delores ) Naputi , Joaquin ( Julie ) Naputi and Felicita Naputi and Maria Naputi. She is also survived by her Grand Nephew Andrew Acosta and Grand Nieces Kassandra Acosta , Lilly and Zoe Tedpaogo and Victoria Tedpaogo.
She will be missed by all who loved her and she will always be in our hearts forever.
