Mitsuko Anne Sato's Obituary
Mitsuko Anne Sato, 41, of Imperial Beach, California, passed away on September 19, 2025, near the beach she loved.
Born on February 20, 1984, in Misawa, Japan, Mitsuko spent her childhood in Vacaville, California, and graduated from Vanden High School. She later moved to Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Arizona State University in 2011.
Above all else, Mitsuko was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Winston and Alistair, who were the greatest joys of her life. In 2014, she relocated to San Diego to raise her children as a dedicated homemaker, creating a warm and joyful home filled with laughter, comfort, and the smell of fresh-baked treats.
Mitsuko had a deep love for dogs—especially Shiba Inus—a passion for baking, and a genuine love for sushi and the beach. Her gentle spirit, easy laughter, and unwavering devotion to her sons defined her life and touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Winston and Alistair; their father; her parents, Kazuhiko and Lisa; and many friends and extended family whose lives she enriched.
A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Clairemont Mortuary in San Diego. Mitsuko’s children kindly request that attendees wear casual attire, in keeping with her warm and relaxed spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mitsuko’s memory to PAWS of Coronado, honoring her deep love for animals. https://pawsofcoronado.org/donate/
She will be remembered always for her kindness, her strength, and her boundless love for her children.
