Natalee Watson Marchetti's Obituary
Natalee is survived by her husband of 13 years, Michael (Gino) Marchetti, and two sons, Jonah and Sebastian. Also surviving her are her mother, Kathryn Watson of San Diego, CA, her father Commander Jerry Watson, USN (Ret.) of Alexandria, VA, and sister, Samantha Goetz of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Commander Watson was a TOP GUN graduate and spent several tours in Fighter Squadrons at then NAS Miramar.
Natalee was born and raised in San Diego, CA, graduating from Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego, CA. She attended the University of Southern California on an Army ROTC scholarship and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. She spent 20 years of active and reserve duty in the Army, specializing in casualty operations. With a desire to see more in life she experienced four deployments in Germany working on high-level Army staffs during Operation Enduring Freedom and the Global War On Terror. After leaving active-duty Natalee acquired a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern CA.
She chose to couple her Army experience and social work by assuming a significant and important role at the San Marcos Vet Center where she provided cognitive therapy, PTSD and somatic experiences to wounded warriors and “warriors live on”, a whole body-mind-spirit experience for combat veterans. In 2022 Natalee graduated from the Healing Hands School of Holistic Health where she became a Holistic Health Practitioner.
She always made the best of where life took her. She felt most alive laughing with her family, traveling, hiking, the outdoors, and of course…THE OCEAN! Natalee has always been a water baby and as she has often said “everything is forgotten and everything is remembered in the water”. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, music, dancing, gardening around flowers and enjoying her many cats & dogs over the years. A dedicated and loving mother, Natalee loved her children, Jonah and Sebastian, and husband, Gino.
Natalee’s final arrangements include Clairemont Mortuary services, funeral service at St. James By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, and gravesite services at Miramar National Cemetery.
