Nina P. Asaro's Obituary
NINA ASARO
May 11, 1933 – October 9, 2018
Nina Asaro passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2018. She was born in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily. She was one of seven children born to Vincenzo Piccione and Caterina Gangitano. Nina immigrated to the United States in 1954.
She was an expert seamstress and employed by Nordstrom’s for 20 plus years. She had four children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was happiest when surrounded by her family while they enjoyed her delicious Italian meals. She loved to bake for her grandkids and they especially loved her homemade cannolis and cream puffs. Nina was predeceased by her great granddaughter Isabella Rose Asaro. She is survived by two brothers and one sister. Also survived by her sons Andrew Asaro (Lori), Vincent Asaro (Tricia), daughters Anna Powell (Tim) and Tina Asaro. Her grandchildren, Michael (Danielle), Daniel (fiancée Carrie) and Thomas Asaro, Elizabeth Tompkins and Natalie Asaro. Great grandchildren Vincent and Gianna Asaro. In addition to step grandchildren Eric Powell and Jessica Curran (Trent) and their children Athena, Thaddeus and Ambrosia. Viewing is Tuesday October 16th from 4-8 pm at Clairemont Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday October 17th at 11:00 am at the Immaculata Catholic Church. Ci Mancherai La Nonna.
