Arrangements under the direction of Clairemont Mortuary, San Diego, CA.OLIVE MARIE KOHMESCHER | Visit Guest Book KOHMESCHER, OLIVE MARIE August 18, 1914 to December 31, 2011 Olive went to rest in “Jesus and Gene’s arms” (her own words) on December 31, 2011. Her beloved husband Gene predeceased her in 1983. She was born on August 18, 1914 in Evansville, Indiana. She was wed on September 23, 1937. When her children were young she was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Olive and Gene moved their family to San Diego in 1958. She was a member of the Y.L.I. and president of the Arch Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Park where she was a parishioner for 53 years. For 20 years she was employed by the San Diego City Schools. She worked with mentally and physically handicapped children. She retired in 1982. One of her greatest pleasures was playing the piano. She started when she was three years old and played by ear. Over the years she played for family gatherings, friends, school activities, Knights of Columbus, and Christmas plays. The last time she played in public was at her 90th birthday party! She is survived by son Larry Kohmescher, daughter Karleen Lovett (John) and son Dennis Kohmescher, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grand-children. Visitation January 12, 2012, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Clairemont Mortuary. Mass January 13, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment at 1:00 p.m. at El Camino Memorial Park.
