Pamela Mary Borkowski's Obituary
On February 3, 2023, our world went dark. Pamela Mary Borkowski, age 55, of Boone and formerly of San Diego, California, was unexpectedly taken away from us. She was the sun in the lives of everyone who had the honor of being her family or friend. Her life was filled by those who could not help but love her and her loss will be deeply felt by all.
Our Pam left this world with her beautiful daughter, Stephanie Jeanne Borkowski, age 32. Pam and Stephanie adored each other and were never apart for long. Our only solace is that they are now together forever.
Pam leaves behind her devoted husband and best friend Todd Borkowski, who has loved and cherished her since they married each other 32 years ago, and her two other children, Steven Borkowski and Britney Druin, and her three grandchildren Easton, Brantley, and Ella Cate, and another grandbaby who is on the way. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She showered us with photographs of them all, bubbling with joy over their every step, every word, every laugh.
Pam also leaves behind her parents, Richard and Jeanne McAlindin, her sisters Catherine White, Sandra Jones and Rebecca Johnson, and her twin brother Richard McAlindin. She is preceded in death by her other twin brother Edward, who we know embraces her now. She was our Pammy. She was our Fluff. She leaves behind her extended McAlindin family and Borkowski family; sister-in-laws who became sisters, brother-in-laws who became brothers, and nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Pammy. She knew every detail of their lives and was their biggest cheerleader.
For over 30 years, Pam was a special education teacher for San Diego Unified School District and then Boone Community School District. In Boone, she was a favorite high school teacher, who was fiercely passionate about her job and her students. Any parent who knew her counted themselves blessed to have such a relentless advocate for their child. Her colleagues knew her as a consummate professional, who worked tirelessly and brought joy to everyone’s lives both inside the classroom and out. She most recently took her years of experience in special education to become an academic strategist for the Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency, helping other special education teachers work magic with their students.
Pam was goodness in this world. She cherished her friends and family, and they cherished her. She showed us every day with her funny words and kindnesses that we meant the world to her. We will miss her irreverent sense of humor. We will miss her contagious laughter. We will miss her long hugs. We will miss her in every moment of every day. Keep watching over us, sweet Pammy, as you did during your entire life, until we see you again.
A Mass will be held for Stephanie and Pamela on Saturday, February 18th at 1pm at St. Mary Magdalene, 1945 Illion St. in San Diego, California.
We all know that Pam had a special place in her big heart for animals. We have all seen her running crazy down the street after stray dogs, yelling, “Come to Pammy, baby, come to Pammy!” In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Boone County Humane Society at www.bahs.us/monthly-donations/.
