Paul M. Stabile's Obituary
Paul Martin Stabile
1/23/1966 to 1/17/2019
Paul Stabile, age 52, left for heaven on January 17, 2019 after suffering a short illness. He was born January 23, 1966 in San Diego, CA to Joe and Melva Stabile and was the youngest of 9 children. He attended School of the Madeleine and University of San Diego High School where he excelled in all sports. He went onto Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he, as in high school, developed close friendships that have endured through the years. Paul had various jobs but the one he will be most remembered for is as the Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher at his alma mater, School of the Madeleine in Bay Park. He absolutely loved his job because it involved two of the things he cherished: serving God and coaching. In recent years Paul developed the Catholic Sports League and Catholic Sports Camp which gave him a great sense of pride. Paul will also be remembered for his many years of service and coaching at Tecolote Youth Baseball. Having played there himself while growing up, he was thrilled to coach his 3 boys through 15 seasons which included many championships. When he wasn’t coaching, he was pacing the sidelines of his kids’ basketball, soccer, and flag football games – always a coach, he found it hard to remain in the background at any sporting event.
In 1997 Paul married his sweetheart, Anastasia Hyll, and together they had 4 children which were the total lights of his life. He lived his life for them and worked hard at showing them how to live a good and faithful life. Having countless nieces and nephews, Paul was an uncle and godfather to many.
Paul, aka “Coach,” will be remembered for his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Diego Padres (especially Tony Gwynn), La Jolla Shores, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, the Silver Store, eBay, Ronald Reagan, and his family.
Paul is survived by his wife of 21 years, Anastasia, and his 4 children: Luke, Maria, Ethan and Clay; siblings Mike, Jeanne, Mark, and Julie. Preceding him in death are his parents Joe and Melva; brothers Joe, John, James; and sister Mary.
