Richard was a loving husband to Elizabeth Auclair, with whom he shared 52 years of happiness. Together, they raised three children: Daniel, Daryl, and Devin. His previous marriage to Yvonne Lewis blessed him with two children, Otis and Diana.
During World War II, Richard bravely served his country and was one of the few surviving veterans of that era. His service continued beyond the war years as he pursued a career as a computer programmer for the Navy, contributing significantly to technological advancements.
Beyond his professional achievements, Richard was a man of diverse talents and passions. He found solace and joy in gardening, nurturing beautiful landscapes that reflected his artistic sensibilities. Richard was also an accomplished artist, channeling his creativity into various forms of expression. His love for music led him to explore electronic music, creating melodies that resonated with those around him.
Richard will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, his unwavering kindness, and his infectious smile. He touched the lives of many with his warmth and wisdom.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on July 30, 2024, from 5pm to 9pm at Clairemont Mortuary in San Diego. Family and friends are invited to join together in remembrance and reflection.
