Richard Joseph DeCapito's Obituary
Richard passed away on September 24, 2017 in San Diego, California. Richard J. DeCapito born April 2 1931 in Kent Ohio the youngest of five children, to Venanzio and Concetta DeCapito.
Richard attended Kent State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Broadcasting in 1964 and a Masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling in 1967.
Richard moved to California in 1966 to work for the State of California Dept of Rehabilitation in Visalia for two years then transferred to San Diego in 1968 to continue his work in Rehabilitation until retiring in 1985. Richard enjoyed and was well versed in some of the major sports, but was especially golf. He was an avid golfer playing many of the fine golf courses in San Diego county. He was a member of the Coronado Mens golf club from 1983 where he developed many golfing pals and friendships. He also enjoyed movies and fine dining and was a voracious reader.
He had a great sense of humor and always a very positive attitude about life and living.
He leaves behind his devoted sweetheart, Marcie Warmer of 15 years. His long time good friend of 31 years ( “Marge” Margaret) McKnight. His niece Carole Card and her husband Harry. of Lomita Ca. Several great nieces and nephews.
