Ernesto Fernandez, Md, Orthopedic Surgeon
As a colleague, Richard was a quiet caring doctor who instilled a calming confidence in my patients, at a time of their greatest need. Somehow, they knew they were in good hands quite quickly. It was there unspoken – a bond of mutual trust. Richard was the anesthesiolgist for my last total hip before retirement – a pleasant memory arranged by the head nurse. This photo documented that case for me with Richard at the head of the table. Emerson said it best – "To know even one life has breathe easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
