Robert Allen Rick's Obituary
Robert Allen Rick, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025. Born on July 22, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA, Robert was the eldest of three children to Jerome and Helen Rick. He attended Blessed Sacred Heart Grammar School and St. Augustine High School, later taking evening classes in Telecommunications.
Robert dedicated 30 years of his career as a Telephone Installer with Pacific Telephone, Pac Bell, and AT&T, retiring in 1995. Post-retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his garage workbench, engaging in various projects and repairs.
Robert resided in University City, San Diego, CA, and was married to Evelyn Geiseler on June 4, 1960, in San Diego. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his son Steven Rick and daughter-in-law Marites Rick, his daughter Sharyn Harbison and son-in-law Mark Harbison, four grandchildren: Chenin, Aubree, Ashley, and Jake, and four great-grandchildren: Hazel, Bodie, Briggs, and Hattie. He also leaves behind cherished friends, the Vandenakkers, Walshe's, and Georgens.
Robert was an active member of square dancing and RV camping clubs. He enjoyed attending friends’ weddings and celebrating Christmas Eve with family. A proud Army veteran, Robert had a passion for trains, RV trips, family gatherings, and was an official red wine connoisseur. He loved going to the beach, dancing in the living room, and was known for his repair skills. His musical tastes included The Bee Gees, Elvis, The Beach Boys, John Denver, and his favorite song, “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond.
