Sally Jane Ellenbecker's Obituary
Sally Jane Ellenbecker, 86, died Friday November 1, 2024, surrounded by her friends and family.
Sally was born at home on February 17th, 1938, in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Sally graduated from Wausau Highschool in 1956. After graduation she went to work at Brokaw Papermill where she would work until 1970, when she married Anthony Ellenbecker and moved to San Diego.
Sally is survived by her daughter Lauri (Don) Breeze, San Diego; three grandchildren, James, Michael and Anna Watkins; three Step-grandchildren, Jacob (Sydney) Breeze, Alexis (John) Oliver and Nicholas Breeze; one step great grandchild, Kurt Breeze; two brothers Rodger (Ruth) Josiger, and Gerald “Butch” (Marjorie) Josiger, both Wisconsin, two sisters Judy (Ray) Dehnel, and Carol (Danny) Sekerka also Wisconsin, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Ellenbecker, her parents William and Irene (Powers) Josiger, brothers William (Phyllis) Josiger, Jr., Michael (Crystal) Josiger, Kenneth (Constance) Josiger, and sisters Susan (John) Morris, and Joan (Albert) Krause, all of Wisconsin.
Sally had a Kind generous heart and loved to visit her Wisconsin Family and go fishing. She also loved baking, especially at Christmas, camping and traveling in her motorhome, watching “her” San Diego Padres, and tending to her garden. She was a chairperson at St Catherines Laboure Bereavement ministry and attended church nearly every day. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, sister and friend. Everyone that met Sally loved her.
Viewing will be held at Clairmont Mortuary, 4266 Mt. Abernathy Ave. on Friday November 8, 2024, from 3-6pm.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday November 9, 2024, at 11am at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4124 Mt. Abraham Ave., with reception immediately following in the church hall.
