Servillano Ramirez Sim's Obituary
Servillano Ramirez Sim, age 79, was born on November 15, 1944, in Tayug, Philippines where he lived until 1962. He was the second of five children. His parents were Vicenti Sim and Emelia Ramirez. He went to Tayug National High School and earned his high school diploma.
He lived in Naples, Italy and later married to Violy Gaon Sim on June 13, 1991, at a city in Italy named Bagnoli. Servillano has five children. The oldest son is Christopher Lee Sim, married to Amy Vanessa Sim; grandchildren Christopher Lee Sim Jr. and Sabria Vanessa Sim. The oldest daughter is Leslie Sim Caguin married to Michael Caguin; grandchildren Jonathan Matthew Caguin, Kobe Alexander Caguin and Anthony Xavier Caguin. Followed by daughter Miracle Joy Sim Anonas married to Erik Anonas; grandchildren Jayden Christopher Sim Anonas, Elena Riley Sim Anonas, and Evelyn Rose Sim Anonas. Youngest daughter, Diane Elizabeth Sim together with Eddie Miranda; grandchildren Caiden James White, Joshua Ian Miranda, and Elias Nathaniel Miranda. Billy John Sim is his youngest son.
Servillano began his career in the armed forces of the Philippines and later joined the United States Navy. He retired in October 1988 after serving for at least 22 years in the Navy and was Honorably Discharged. While active in the military, he received the Navy Battle “E” ribbon; Sea Service deployment ribbon (2); Fifth good conduct award for period ending January 25, 1988, Navy expeditionary medal (2); Enlisted Surface Warfare Insignia; Navy Unit Commendations; Humanitarian Service medal; armed forces Expeditionary medal; Navy and Marine Corps overseas Service ribbon; National Defense Service medal; Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (w/Palm); Meritorious Unit Commendation; and Vietnam Service Medal. After his first retirement, he engaged in another career that he loved with military affiliation that later became his second retirement.
He was authoritative, selfless, patient, colorful sense of humor, and a confidant. He had a special bond for each person he had met and held an everlasting friendship. He touched the lives of all those around him and was always joking and laughing with everyone and anyone, but also serious and sincere when he needed to be. One of his favorite hobbies was to be outdoors with family. He loved adventures and creating moments with loved ones. A few of his favorite artists were Frank Sinatra, Louie Armstrong, Fred Astaire, Nat King Cole, The Drifters, Ben E. King, The Temptations, and Earth Wind & Fire. His most favorite song before his passing was “Forever Young,” by Jay Z. He always told us he wanted to be forever young, and he truly was at heart. With a heart full of love, his infectious smile, and his rumbling laughter, he will be deeply missed.
